COLLEGE HOCKEY ROUNDUP: No. 9 Gophers Win Two at Mariucci Classic

D1 Men

Minnesota-Duluth (12-3-3)

The Bulldogs maintain their No. 1 ranking in the latest United States College Hockey Online poll, and have not played a game since Dec. 17. The next action for the Bulldogs will be on Jan. 6, when they host Colorado College.

Minnesota (11-5-2)

The Golden Gophers earned a two-game sweep as the host of the 26th Annual Mariucci Classic, winning games against Mercyhurst and Massachusetts. The Golden Gophers are currently ranked ninth in the USCHO poll.

Bemidji State (14-7-3)

A 4-1 loss and a 1-0 win are the souvenirs the No. 17 Beavers take back to the continental U.S. after a New Year’s trip to Alaska-Anchorage.

Minnesota State (11-7-2)

The No. 19 Mavericks are another team that hasn’t competed since the middle of December, and will be back in action on Jan. 6 to kick off a series on the road against Alabama-Huntsville.

St. Cloud State (9-8-1)

Ranked No. 20, the Huskies split on their trip to Arizona, falling to Connecticut 4-3 and edging Arizona State 4-2. Up next for the Huskies is a road trip to Oxford, Ohio for a series against Miami University.
