D1 Men

Minnesota-Duluth (3-1-2)

The Bulldogs are the highest rated Minnesota team in the United States College Hockey Online poll at No. 2, just behind unanimous No. 1 North Dakota.

The Bulldogs did not play any official regular season games over the weekend, instead facing off against the National Team Development Program’s Under-18 team. They host North Dakota in a huge series on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29.

Minnesota State (5-1-0)

Suffering their first loss of the season over the weekend, the No. 9 Mavericks dropped game two of their series series against Alaska-Fairbanks by a score of 4-2.

Daniel Brickley continues to impress, leading the team with 10 points on one goal and nine assists.

St. Cloud State (2-2-0)

The Huskies swept Minnesota over the weekend with a pair of one-goal wins by scores of 6-5 and 3-2.

Highlights of the series for the No. 10 Huskies included Judd Peterson scoring a hat trick in game one, and three unanswered goals by the Huskies to erase a 2-0 deficit and win in game two.

Minnesota (2-2-0)

Being swept by St. Cloud State certainly stung the No. 12 Golden Gophers, who lost a 2-0 lead in game two’s 3-2 defeat.

Tyler Sheehy scored a goal and added two assists to provide the Gophers with a bright spot in game one’s 6-5 loss.

Bemidji State (4-2-0)

The Beavers were swept by No. 1 North Dakota over the weekend, but the silver lining for the Beavers could be the fact that both losses were by one goal.

Ranked No. 20, Beavers made a serious run at a win in the second game, scoring three goals in the third period before the Fighting Hawks emerged with a 5-4 win.

D1 Women

Minnesota (7-1-0)

The Golden Gophers come in at No. 2 in the latest USCHO poll, after sweeping Ohio State on the road over the weekend by scores of 3-2 and 2-1. Sarah Potomak highlighted the series by scoring all three goals for the Golden Gophers in game one, and adding another tally in game two.

With those victories, Minnesota has won four consecutive one-goal games.

Minnesota-Duluth (4-2-2)

The Bulldogs, rated No. 3 in the USCHO poll, rebounded from a sweep at the hands of Minnesota with a 2-1 win and a 3-3 tie with Bemidji State over the weekend.

Next weekend, the Bulldogs will travel to Columbus for a series with Ohio State.

Bemidji State (4-3-1)

The No. 10 Beavers fell to Minnesota-Duluth 2-1 and lost in a shootout after a 3-3 draw with the Bulldogs last weekend, salvaging a point in the second game.

Goaltender Brittini Mowat was again a bright spot between the pipes for the Beavers, making 39 saves in game one and 38 saves in game two.

St. Cloud State (3-4-1)

The Huskies tied Minnesota State 2-2 and shut out the Mavericks 2-0 last weekend, with four different players scoring in the series.

The tie and victory give the Huskies three consecutive games without a loss.

Minnesota State (2-5-1)

After tying and losing to St. Cloud State over the weekend, the Mavericks will now host No. 1 ranked Wisconsin next weekend.
