Every Tuesday and Thursday night, dozens of National Hockey League stars take the ice at Edina’s Braemar Arena and put on a show for the bargain price of $5.

Da Beauty Leagues games consist of two 30-minute halves of four-on-four action, with three games each evening. All regular rules (icing, offsides, etc) still apply.

According to the league’s website, "Da Beauty League was established in the Fall of 2015 by local business people in an effort to bring professional hockey to Minnesota on a year-round basis. Da Beauty League centers itself on bringing fans fast-paced professional hockey in a casual environment. For the players, Da Beauty League serves as a training ground for the players as they prepare for their upcoming professional seasons."

The DBL’s regular season will come to a close on August 4th, and the league will then move into its playoffs.

Team RBC is led by Brainerd High School product Josh Archibald and former Warroad star Brock Nelson, who each have nine points in four games, through July 26. Archibald is currently on the roster of the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins and Nelson skates for the New York Islanders.

Stu Bickel of the DBL’s Team Velocity leads the league in scoring with five goals and 16 points, and his 11 assists also lead the league.

Team Tradition defenseman and New York Rangers blueliner Brady Skjei is tied with Bickel for the league lead in assists.

The big names – including David Backes, Nick Bjugstad, Dustin Byfuglien, Jake Gardiner, Alex Goligoski, Nick Leddy, Ryan McDonagh, Zach Parise and Tomas Vanek, to name a few – are not limited to those on the ice, but carry over to behind the bench as well. Former NHLers Erik Rasmussen, Mark Parrish, Ben Clymer, Keith Ballard, Brian Lawton and Scott Bell are all DBL coaches.
