No. 5 Huskies to Face Western Michigan in First Round of NCHC Playoffs

D1 Men

1. St. Cloud State (27-8-1)

The Huskies swept Northern Collegiate Hockey Conference rival Colorado College by scores of 5-2 and 9-3 on the road this weekend.

2. Minnesota-Duluth (15-14-5)

After losing three straight games in mid-February, the Bulldogs have rattled off four consecutive wins, including a sweep of Miami (OH) over the weekend.

3. Minnesota State (18-11-7)

The Mavericks had their three-game winning streak snapped in a 1-0 loss to Bemidji State in this weekend’s series finale.

4. Minnesota (18-15-0)

A 4-2 win over Big 10 rival Michigan State was overshadowed by a devastating 5-0 loss to the Spartans in the second game of this weekend’s series.

5. Bemidji State (16-14-6)

The Beavers bounced back from a 6-1 loss to Minnesota State with a 1-0 shutout of the Mavericks this weekend.

D1 Women

1. Minnesota (32-4-1)

The Gophers lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to Wisconsin in the WCHA Final Face-Off, but will have home-ice advantage for the first round of the NCAA tournament. Minnesota will face Princeton at Ridder Arena on March 12.

2. Minnesota Duluth (15-20-1)

The Bulldogs went on the road and downed Bemidji State twice by scores of 5-1 and 2-1 to earn a spot in the WCHA Final Face-Off semifinals with Wisconsin.

3. St. Cloud State (14-18-2)

The Huskies ran into a buzzsaw in the first round of the WCHA playoffs, losing to North Dakota twice by identical 6-1 scores.

4. Bemidji State (22-11-3)

The Beavers fell twice over the weekend to Minnesota Duluth, including a 2-1 overtime loss to the Bulldogs.

5. Minnesota State (3-29-4)

The Mavericks were dropped in the first round of the WCHA First Round without scoring a goal in 4-0 and 6-0 losses to Wisconsin.

D3 Men/Women

MEN’S DIVISION III - MIAC Playoff Update

Augsburg took the MIAC playoff crown with a thrilling 5-4 win over St. John’s in the championship game. 

The Auggies downed Hamline in the semifinals, while the Johnnies edged St. Thomas in overtime to advance to the title game.

WOMEN’S DIVISION III - MIAC Playoff Update

St. Thomas squeaked by Bethel 2-1 to claim the MIAC Playoff title this weekend. Megan Juricko scored early in the third period and the Tommies held off the Royals to earn the win.
