Bemidji State and St. Cloud State to meet at the Essentia Health Sports Center at 6 p.m.

Bemidji State University and St. Cloud State University, two Minnesota teams from the WCHA women’s league – the nation’s premiere college hockey conference – will meet in the 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women’s Face-Off Classic, Nov. 20, at 6, p.m. at Brainerd’s Essentia Health Sports Center.

“The Hall of Fame game takes you back to your youth hockey days,” said Bemidji State captain Melissa Hunt. “To take a day trip to a small-town rink, it’s a very surreal and nostalgic feeling that comes with that and all around an incredibly fun game to be a part of.”

St. Cloud State assistant captain Abby Thiessen said, “I think it’ll be a really good match-up. The team is excited to go to Brainerd and get the local community out to see two good Minnesota teams go at it. It’s also nice to play in a game where you know the proceeds are going to a local charity.”

Game proceeds will go to Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen (www.sharingbread.com) in Brainerd. This organization helps families in need by serving hot meals seven days a week.

Along with bringing women’s NCAA Division I hockey to a local community and raising funds for a worthy charity, this game creates awareness for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, Minn.

There are many exciting game-day activities planned including a ceremonial puck drop, music, youth games between periods, special post-game awards ceremony, presentations and player autographs.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Online tickets are available here.
