This Thanksgiving, the Minnesota Wild is teaming up with youth hockey tournaments throughout the State of Hockey to expand the reach of the team's annual food drive, in partnership with Toyota.
The Minnesota Wild State of Hockey Food Drive will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 23, when the Wild takes on the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Second Harvest Heartland volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations at Gates 1-4 from 5:30 p.m. until the start of the first period.
From Friday-Sunday, Nov. 25-27, 22 youth hockey tournaments taking place from Roseau to Rosemount will be accepting donations to help stock local food banks and food shelves. Bins will be distributed by Second Harvest Heartland and local food banks to all host rinks. Teams and spectators are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items. Visit wild.com/fooddrive for a list of participating tournaments.
