D1 Men

1. St. Cloud State (8-2-0 overall, 4-0-0 NCHC)

The Huskies are on a roll, moving up to seventh place in the 2015-16 Division I men's hockey poll released by USCHO.com and USA Hockey/USA TODAY. With six points apiece in last weekend’s sweep of Western Michigan, Joey Benik (Andover, Minn.) and Ethan Prow (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) were selected as Bauer National Collegiate Hockey Conference players of the week.

2. Minnesota Duluth (3-5-3 overall, 0-3-1 NCHC)

The Bulldogs fell to 17th in the recent USCHO.com poll, after tying and losing to Denver last week. After a decent start to the season, UMD has yet to win a game in November. Colorado College is up next (Nov. 20-21) for Minnesota Duluth.

3. Minnesota State (6-6-0 overall, 5-1-0 WCHA)

Senior forward Teddy Blueger’s overtime goal earned Minnesota State a split with rival Minnesota last weekend. Freshman goaltender Jason Pawloski turned aside 24 shots for Minnesota State in the contest, bringing his record to 3-0-0. After a slow start, the Mavericks have gone 6-2 in their last eight games. They continue their Western Collegiate Hockey Association season next weekend with a two-game set at Northern Michigan.

4. Minnesota (4-5-0 overall, 0-0-0-0 Big Ten)

After a rocky start, the Gophers have fared better of late, winning four of their last six games including a win and an overtime loss against Minnesota State last weekend. The series couldn’t have ended much worse for Minnesota, however, as they allowed two late goals to send the game into an extra session where they eventually lost. Minnesota returns to action against St. Cloud State, Nov. 27-29, at Mariucci Arena.

5. Bemidji State (2-5-2 overall, 1-4-1 WCHA)

Following a much-needed weekend off after a 0-3-1 start in conference play, the Beavers earned their first WCHA win, beating Alaska Fairbanks last Saturday with four, third-period goals. Picked to finish fourth by the leagues’ coaches, BSU looks to start a winning streak against Lake Superior State Nov. 20-21.

D1 Women

1. Minnesota (11-1-0 overall, 9-1-0-0 WCHA)

The Gophers, ranked No. 3 in the latest USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll, continued their winning ways Nov. 13-14, sweeping a powerful Bemidji State squad at Ridder Arena. Senior Hannah Brandt scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, becoming the Gopher women’s hockey program’s all-time leading scorer.

2. Bemidji State (10-4-2 overall, 7-4-1 WCHA)

Bemidji State had its four-game winning streak stopped cold by the Gophers last weekend, losing 4-0 and 8-3. The No. 6 ranked Beavers return home Nov. 20-21 to face Minnesota State, hoping to sustain their impressive 5-0-2 mark at the Sanford Center.

3. St. Cloud State (5-7-0 overall, 3-7-0 WCHA)

The Huskies rebounded with a sweep of Minnesota State last weekend at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. In the series clincher, Molly Illikainen registered two goals and an assist and was a +3. Illikainen, a senior from Grand Rapids, Minn., leads SCSU with seven goals and 13 points through 11 games.

4. Minnesota Duluth (4-8-0 overall, 2-6-0 WCHA)

The struggles continued for UMD, which dropped a pair of games to Wisconsin and fell to 2-6 in the conference. Since sweeping Minnesota State on Oct. 16-17, the Bulldogs have gone 0-4, being outscored 18-5 in that span.

5. Minnesota State (2-11-1 overall, 0-10-0 WCHA)

The rough start for Minnesota State continues. After a 2-1-1 start, the Mavericks have dropped 10 straight games, being outscored 44-11 over that stretch. It doesn’t get any easier for MSU, which travels to Bemidji to face the Beavers next weekend.

2. Gustavus Adolphus (2-1-1 overall, 1-1-0 MIAC)

Head Coach Mike Carroll’s Gustavus squad has remained No. 8 in the USCHO.com Poll since the start of the season. Split with the Tommies last weekend. Senior Lindsey Hibbard (Princeton, Minn.) has been up to the task in net, posting a 2.90 goals-against-average and a .901 save percentage through three games.

3. Augsburg (3-1-0 overall, 2-0-0 MIAC)

Augsburg is 3-0-0 since opening the season with a 2-0 loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Swept St. Catherine’s Nov. 13-14 by scores of 2-1 and 4-2.
