Season Outlook: The Jaguars only return 14 goals from last season so will look to improve their offensive output this season. They only scored 64 goals last year so will need to improve on the offensive end. They bring back solid goaltender in senior Luke Swanson. The 6’3” Swanson had an impressive junior year with a .915 save percentage.

Season Outlook: The Storm return their top 10 scorers from a year ago when they won 19 games, and of those 10 six are only juniors. This bodes well not only for this season, but next year as well. The team will have 13 juniors, all coming back with valuable game experience. Their best player is Gavin Uhlenkamp, a University of Wisconsin commit who scored 15 goals as a sophomore. Look for him to have a big year for the Storm. Six players return after having 20-point seasons and 17 players notched at least 10 points last year. They should have a strong defensive corps and good goaltending, but will it be enough to compete for a section title in arguably the toughest section in AA.

Chaska Hawks

Season Outlook: The Hawks won 22 games last season, but lost two of their top returning players. Defenseman Sam Rinzel, who was drafted 25th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2022 NHL Draft, will not return for his senior season. Junior Sam Scheetz, who led the team in scoring last year with 22 goals and 40 points, transferred to Minnetonka. The Hawks also lost eight players to graduation, leaving plenty of room for some newcomers to step up and make a difference.

Eden Prairie Eagles

Season Outlook: We have high hopes and expectations for this year’s group.  We are on the younger side and last year’s team had a lot of seniors, so lots of opportunity for ice time and to fill roles this year. We have a lot of returning V/JV players that will compete for spots as well as a terrific group of freshmen and sophomores off a strong BAA team that are in the mix as well.  We’re very excited after what we saw this summer in regards to their work ethic, their dedication to their development, and their passion for hockey.

Holy Family Catholic Fire

Season Outlook: The fire return a solid group of players who will look to improve on their 12-win season from a year ago. Top scorer Parker Osborn and his 26 goals return to lead a strong senior class that also includes Keyan Schugel and Tommy Agerland. The Fire’s top two defensemen also return in seniors Ethan Hall and Daxton Burdak. Goaltender Bennett Reinhard split time last season and will be relied on as a senior between the pipes.

Minnetonka Skippers

We expect to compete for a Lake Conference Championship, a Section 2AA Title, and a return to the State AA Tournament in March.

Prior Lake Lakers

But they graduated their six scorers, which will mean a lot of newcomers will have to step up in new roles and provide a much-needed scoring boost to compete in the extremely tough Section 2AA.

Shakopee Sabres

Season Outlook: The Sabres are stuck in an unbelievably tough section, but return their top three players from last season. Carson Steinhoff, who put up 26 points as an eighth-grade defenseman, and Cooper Simpson (24 goals and 39 points as a freshman) are both underclassmen who should continue to improve, giving the Sabres a bright future.

Season Outlook: The Raiders made their first return trip to state in 13 years last season only to run into Prior Lake in the semifinals where they lost 6-0. They lose their top scorer and Mr. Hockey finalist Drew Fisher, but younger brother Jake, who led the Elite League in scoring this fall, returns to lead the Raiders in what hopes to be another battle for a section crown.

Eagan Wildcats
