Red Black League History - The Red Black High School League was founded in 2014 for Boys High School players.  The vast majority of kids don't play in the Elite League, Tier 1, etc and want to improve their skills in order to make an impact with their high school program.  Players were left behind, the demand to play was huge, and our league caters to ALL high school hockey players.  Our leadership and coaches have deep ties to Minnesota High School Hockey.

Today we field 20+ teams in the Spring and 20+ in the Fall; the RB league has fielded players from 70+ high school programs.  You name the school and they have had numerous kids play in our league.  Our league was formed with a strong emphasis on acquiring the necessary game skills to be the best High School hockey player possible and at the same time allowing for the development of players with post high school aspirations.  Improved skills will include increased repetition in read and react situations, playing with speed, puck time skills (playmaking and goal scoring), ice vision, creativity and overall confidence. Secondly, the league was designed to greatly increase player safety so players will have the longevity to enjoy the sport of hockey for a lifetime.

The RB league expanded in 2017 to include Bantam and Peewee age levels.  The RB league further expanded in the Fall of 2021 to include High School Girls.  All leagues are operated with the same principals and dedication that were at our core when we started in 2014.
