Sauk Centre, Minn. – Let’s Play Hockey has teamed up with Carbone’s Pizza to recognize youth players and youth teams of the week beginning Nov. 9 and running through mid March.

Let’s Play Hockey and Carbone’s Pizza will also recognize a Youth Player of the Year and Youth Team of the Year at the squirt, peewee and bantam levels at the end of the youth season.

“We excited to partner with a true staple in the Twin Cities Metro and surrounding area,” said Let’s Play Hockey Publisher Bryan Zollman. “Carbone’s, like youth hockey, has a tremendous tradition in the state of hockey. They have been serving and feeding hockey players and teams for decades.”

Players and teams can be nominated by e-mailing bryan@letsplayhockey.com. Submissions must be made by Sunday night at 8 p.m. for the previous week’s play. Players and teams nominated should not only show excellence on the ice, but also display good sportsmanship and strong character. Off-ice commitments to their respective community is also a bonus. Nominations for Players the Year and Team of the Year will begin in early March.

“We are pleased to partner with Let’s Play Hockey and recognize youth players and teams who truly play for the love of the sport,” said Carbone’s Pizza owner Thomas Carbone. “Hockey is such a big part of the fabric of our state and our local communities. We are happy to support all those who make it such a valuable and meaningful activity for our youth. From coaches, to parents, to volunteers, we all can make a positive difference when we work together for the common good.”

Carbone’s has 36 locations in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin and in 2011 was named the best pizza in the Twin Cities and received the Diners’ Choice Award by the MPLS St. Paul Magazine.
