Ten Minnesotans Named to 2017 U.S. Women’s Under-18 Select Team

Ten State of Hockey natives were named to USA Hockey's 2017 Women's Under-18 Select Team that will compete against Canada in a three-game series in Lake Placid, N.Y. from August 17-20.

According to USA Hockey, "the roster is comprised of athletes from nine different states and includes seven members of the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team that won gold at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championship."

Minnesotans on the U.S. roster include:

  • Gracie Ostertag, D, Shakopee
  • Madeline Wethington, D, Edina
  • Maggie Nicholson, D, Minnetonka
  • Lizi Norton, D, Orono
  • Madison Bizal, D, Elk River
  • Maggie Flaherty, F, Lakeville
  • Samantha Burke, F, Eden Prairie
  • Taylor Heise, F, Lake City
  • Calla Frank, G, Hugo
  • Sydney Shearen, F, Hugo
