According to USA Hockey, the 2017 U.S. Under-18 Select Team features nine players who helped the U.S. Under-17 Select Team win the 2016 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, held last summer in Frisco, Texas. That group includes McLaughlin, who finished as the 2016 Five Nations Tournament's leading scorer (6G, 4A in 4 GP).
