Tonight's the night.
The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team has had an outstanding 2016-17 season. A few hours from now in Chicago, the Bulldogs have the opportunity to make it legendary.
Scott Sandelin's No. 2 ranked Bulldogs (28-6-7) will battle No. 1 Denver (32-7-4) at the United Center (at 7:00 p.m. CT), in what may be a NCAA championship game for the ages, between the two National Collegiate Hockey Conference rivals.
Senior forward Alex Iafallo (20-30-50), sophomore forward Adam Johnson (18-19-37) and freshman forward Joey Anderson (12-24-36) lead the way offensively for Minnesota Duluth, which last won the national title in 2011 in St. Paul. Denver, led by Hobey Baker award-winning defenseman Will Butcher (7-30-37) won back-to-back crowns in 2004 and 2005.
