The Bulldogs escaped regional play with back-to-back wins in overtime, with each game being decided by a 3-2 score.

First-round opponent Ohio State made a late charge in the third period, erasing the Bulldogs’ 2-0 lead with goals from Matt Joyaux and Gordi Meyer, setting up the extra session heroics by UMD’s Willie Raskob.

Dominic Toninato and Nick Wold scored in the second period to give the Bulldogs the initial 2-0 lead.

In round two, UMD (27-6-7) traded goals with Boston University, and took a 2-1 lead into the final minutes of regulation on goals by Alex Iafallo and Joey Anderson.

BU’s Patrick Harper tied the game at the 16:47 mark of the third period, forcing an overtime in which Adam Johnson of UMD tallied the game-winner just under two minutes into the period.

Clayton Keller scored the first goal of the game for the Terriers (24-12-3).

The Bulldogs will now face Harvard (28-5-2) at 6 p.m. (ET) on April 6 at the United Center in Chicago.

The Golden Gophers allowed three unanswered goals en route to a 3-2 loss against Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, marking the end of their 2016-2017 season.

After goals by Connor Reilly and Vinni Lettieri staked the Golden Gophers (23-12) a 2-0 lead, the Fighting Irish found two goals in the last few minutes of the second period.

Andrew Oglevie and Anders Bjork scored less than a minute apart to erase the Golden Gopher advantage.

Notre Dame’s Bjork would strike again in the third period lifting the Fighting Irish (22-11), who later advanced to the Frozen Four.
