Minnesota-Duluth (7-1-2)

No. 1 Minnesota-Duluth scored a pair of 5-3 wins over St. Cloud State on the road last weekend. The Bulldogs will host Western Michigan next weekend, and will look to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Minnesota (4-2-2)

The intense rivalry between No. 8 Minnesota and No. 6 North Dakota was back in full force over the weekend, and the Gophers emerged with a 5-5 tie and a 2-0 victory over the Fighting Hawks.

Goaltender Eric Schierhorn made 33 saves in the game two shutout.

Minnesota State (7-3-0)

The Mavericks were thumped 5-1 in the series-opener against Lake Superior State, but rebounded with a 2-1 victory in the finale. The Mavericks, ranked No. 11, have cooled after their hot start to the season, winning just two of their last five games.

St. Cloud State (4-4-0)

After winning four straight games, the Huskies were swept by top-ranked Minnesota-Duluth over the weekend by identical 5-3 scores. The Huskies gave up leads of 3-2 and 3-1 in games one and two respectively.

Bemidji State (8-2-0)

Four straight wins for the Beavers propel them to a No. 15 United States College Hockey Online ranking. Two of those wins include the weekend’s sweep Alaska-Fairbanks on the road. The two losses the Beavers have suffered came against North Dakota, then ranked No. 1, by one goal each.

Minnesota (11-1-0)

The No. 2-rated Golden Gophers swept the Minnesota State Mavericks over the weekend by scores of 5-0 and 8-1. The Golden Gophers have gone a full month without a loss since a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bemidji State on Oct. 8.

Minnesota-Duluth (6-2-2)

On the road against Ohio State, the Bulldogs emerged victorious with wins of 6-0 and 3-2. Goaltenders Maddie Rooney and Catherine Johnson made 20 and seven saves, respectively, in the shutout.

Bemidji State (4-7-1)

Bemidji State has understandably slipped in the rankings after losing its last four games. More alarming for the Beavers is that three of those four losses have been by shutout, including losses by 5-0 and 6-0 scores to top-ranked Wisconsin over the weekend.

St. Cloud State (3-6-1)

The Huskies had the weekend off, and will host Ohio State on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 in its next games.

Minnesota State (2-9-1)

Losers of five straight, the Mavericks were trounced by No. 2 Minnesota 5-0 and 8-1. The Mavericks have scored just two goals in their last five games, and will have next weekend off before hosting Ohio State.

D3 Men

Augsburg (3-0-1, 0-0-0)

The Auggies, ranked No. 11 in the latest United States College Hockey Online poll, have not played a regular-season MIAC game yet, but wins over Wisconsin-Superior and Wisconsin-Eau Claire by scores of 8-4 and 2-1 bode well for the upcoming conference schedule.

The Auggies will face MIAC rival Gustavus on Nov. 18 to start conference play.

St. Scholastica (1-1-0)

The Saints are the second highest-rated Minnesota team in the USCHO poll at No. 17, aided largely by a 2-1 win over preseason No. 12 Wisconsin-River Falls. The Saints will return home to face UWRF again on Nov. 8.

Hamline (3-0-1, 2-0-0)

After a 2-2 tie with Augsburg to start the season, the Pipers have rattled off three straight wins, including a series sweep of St. Olaf over the weekend. Russ Jordan scored three goals and added three assists over the weekend for the Pipers, who sit atop the Minnesota Interscholastic Athletic Conference standings with six points.

Concordia (3-1-0, 1-1-0)

Just behind the Pipers in the MIAC is Concordia, which rebounded after a 5-2 loss to St. John’s with a 5-1 win over those same Johnnies. Jon Grebosky handed out four assists during the series for the Cobbers.

St. John’s (3-1-0, 1-1-0)

The Johnnies won three straight games before falling to Concordia 5-1 in the weekend’s series. St. John's emerged victorious in game one, 5-2. Six different players scored goals for the Johnnies over the weekend.

D3 Women

Augsburg (3-1-0)

The Auggies, who received votes in the USCHO poll, have been impressive prior to MIAC play, winning three straight after losing to St. Scholastica in the season-opener. Two of those wins were shutouts over Northland by scores of 5-0 and 4-0 over the weekend.

St. Scholastica (2-2-0)

The No. 12 Saints polished off a four-game home stand with a pair of losses to No. 8 Lake Forest by identical 4-3 scores. Abby Sawyer and Emily Stegora each scored two goals for the Saints over the weekend.

St. Thomas (0-2-0)

The No. 9 Tommies have lost twice to start the season to Wisconsin-Eau Claire 4-1 and 2-1 to No. 2 Wisconsin-River Falls. MIAC play for the Tommies will begin with a Nov. 11 series against Gustavus.

Concordia (1-0-1)

A 3-1 win and a 3-3 tie with Wisconsin-Stevens Point starts the season on a good note for Concordia, which will face Saint Benedict next weekend to start MIAC play. Jess Nelson scored two goals for the Cobbers over the weekend.

St. Benedict (2-0-0)

Saint Benedict outscored Northland 14-5 over the weekend, led by Elli Marvin’s four goals and two assists. The high-octane offense bodes well for next weekend, when the Blazers face Concordia.
