Minnesota-Duluth (2-0-2)

The highest-rated Minnesota team in the United States College Hockey Online Poll at No. 4, the Bulldogs have jumped headfirst into competition to start the season.

The Bulldogs went on the road against No. 8 Mass-Lowell and came away with a pair of ties - 4-4 and 1-1. Sophomore defenseman Neal Pionk continued his hot start from the blue line, scoring a goal and handing out a pair of assists over the two games. Pionk leads the Bulldogs with three goals and six points thus far.

St. Cloud State (0-0-0)

The No. 7-ranked Huskies defeated the University of Regina 6-2 in an exhibition contest on Oct. 2 and will officially start their season with a series on the road against Minnesota State, October 14-15.

Minnesota (2-0-0)

A trip north proved fruitful for the Golden Gophers, as they came away with two wins over Alaska-Anchorage and Alaska-Fairbanks by scores of 6-0 and 6-3, respectively.

The primary catalyst for the Golden Gopher scoring attack over the two games was sophomore forward Tyler Sheehy, who picked up two goals and five points. Minnesota is currently slotted at No. 9 nationally in the USCHO poll.

Minnesota State (2-0-0)

Utah native Daniel Brickley has already started building on an All-WCHA Rookie campaign in 2015-2016, having a hand in six of the Mavericks’ seven goals in a sweep of Michigan Tech.

The Mavericks took game one 3-1 over the Huskies behind three assists by Brickley, who also scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists in a 4-0 game two win.

Bemidji State (2-0-0)

Bemidji State hosted No. 20 Bowling Green last week and sent the Falcons home winless after victories of 2-1 and 4-1.

With balanced scoring making the difference for the Beavers, senior forward Phillip Marinaccio emerged as the points leader with three assists. The Beavers will face Northern Michigan on the road next weekend.

Women's D1

Minnesota (3-1-0)

The fast start of three straight wins came to an abrupt halt last weekend, as the Golden Gophers fell to Big Ten Conference foe Bemidji State 2-0 after beating the Beavers in the first game of the series 3-1.

The Golden Gophers, ranked No. 3 in the latest United States College Hockey Online poll, scored three goals in the third period of the 3-1 win, with Dani Cameranesi tying the game and then scoring the eventual game-winner less than three minutes apart in the final frame.

Minnesota-Duluth (3-0-1)

The Bulldogs outscored Minnesota State by a combined 9-1 to earn the sweep over the Mavericks and maintain their undefeated record.

Senior forward Lara Stalder had two assists in the first game for the fourth-ranked Bulldogs, then exploded for a hat-trick and a helper in the second game.

Bemidji State (3-1-0)

A win over No. 3 Minnesota should help the No. 8 Beavers inch their way up the national rankings. The Beavers managed to shut down the Gophers in the second game of the series 2-0, behind goals by Summer Thibodeau and Ciscely Nelson.

Bemidji State goaltender Brittni Mowat was a spectacular in the win, making 31 saves to earn the shutout.

St. Cloud State (2-4-0)

The Huskies managed to stop a minor slide over the weekend, edging No. 10 North Dakota 3-2 to earn a split in the series after losing two straight games.

Alyssa Erickson, Julia Tylke and Kelsey Saelens each scored once in the win over North Dakota, with Saelens’ goal coming early in the third period. The game-winner was the first goal of the season for Saelens.

Minnesota State (2-2-0)

The momentum of a season-opening series sweep over the Rochester Institute of Technology was quickly reigned in as the Mavericks managed just one goal in two losses to No. 4 Minnesota Duluth last weekend.

Jordan McLaughlin scored the lone goal for the Mavericks, her first goal of the season.
