The inaugural season of Da Beauty League came to a close on Wednesday night, with Sportsdigita downing RBC Wealth Management 10-5 in the summer league’s championship game at Edina’s Braemar Arena.

DBL Most Valuable Player Drew Stafford of the Winnipeg Jets scored two goals and added a pair of assists, and teammate Dustin Byfuglien also registered four points on a goal and three assists to lead Sportsdigita to the title.

Sportsdigita took a 6-1 lead at halftime, thanks in large part to five unanswered goals to end the first half. RBC Wealth Management pulled within two goals at 6-4 to open the second, but Sportsdigita pulled away for the victory.

Goaltender Adam Carlson stopped 35 of 40 shots for second-seeded Sportsdigita, which defeated No. 3 seed Velocity Hockey 6-2 in the semifinals.

Top-seeded RBC Wealth Management slipped past fourth-seeded Aspire 6-5. Byfuglien and Stafford were named to the DBL’s All-Tournament Team, joined by RBC’s Brock Nelson and Brandon Wildung, Velocity Hockey’s Alex Goligoski and Walser Auto’s Jake Guentzel.
