Four Minnesota-Born Skaters Named to 2016-17 U.S. National U17 Team

USA Hockey National Team Development Program Announces U17 Roster

USA Hockey today announced the roster of the 22 players - including four Minnesota natives - selected to join its' National Team Development Program Under-17 Team for the 2016-17 season.

Minnesota-born players who will play next season in Plymouth, Mich., include: Keegan Karki (Sartell), Ryan Ullan (Hibbing), K'Andre Miller (Hopkins) and Trevor Janicke (Maple Grove).

The U.S. National Under-17 Team will play in the United States Hockey League, the top junior league in the United States. It will also compete in three international tournaments, including the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, 2016 Four Nations Tournament and 2017 Five Nations Tournament.

Goaltenders

Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) played between the pipes for St. Cloud Cathedral High School in Minnesota. The netminder finished the season with a 14-7-1 (W-L-OTL) record, 2.90 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. He also claimed two shutouts. Karki is committed to the University of North Dakota.

Ryan Ullan (Hibbing, Minn.) recorded a 24-4-0 record in net for Hibbing / Chisholm (Minn.) High School. The goalie registered a 1.84 GAA and .919 save percentage in addition to five shutouts for the Bluejackets.

 

Defensemen

K’Andre Miller (Hopkins, Minn.) notched five markers and registered 11 helpers on defense for Minnetonka (Minn.) High School. He played in 26 games for the Skippers.

 

Forwards

Trevor Janicke (Maple Grove, Minn.) played in 28 games for Maple Grove (Minn.) High School. He netted 15 goals and registered 26 helpers and is committed to the University of Notre Dame.
