The 2016 Boys' and Girls' Hockey State Tournaments are now complete and congratulations are in order to teams from Wayzata (boys' Class AA), Hermantown (boys' Class A), Eden Prairie (girls' Class AA) and Blake (girls' Class A).

In addition to the trophies and medals given to the victorious tournament teams, a number of individual honors were awarded along the way, including Mr. and Ms. Hockey, All-Tournament Teams and coaches of the year. Following is a recap of some of the highest profile individual awards for 2016:

Blaine's Riley Tufte, who led the metro area this season with 49 goals and totaled 85 points, received the 2016 Mr. Hockey award as the top senior boys' high school player in Minnesota.

Tufte, a Minnesota Duluth commit, is projected to be a first-round pick in the National Hockey League Entry Draft in June.

Talking about the decision to return to Blaine for his senior season despite other opportunities, Tufte told the Star Tribune, "I wanted one more shot at playing with my buddies and making it back to the state tournament." While his Bengals' squad didn't quite reach that lofty goal after being surprised in a playoff semifinal, Blaine had a solid season with the high-scoring Tufte as its leader.

Other finalists for the 2016 Mr. Hockey award included Wyatt Aamodt (Hermantown), Chase Ellingson (Breck), Will Garin (Holy Family), Cade Gleekel (Benilde-St. Margaret's), Michael Graham (Eden Prairie), Tyler Jette (Farmington), Mitchell Mattson (Grand Rapids), Luke Notermann (Blaine) and Casey Staum (Hill-Murray).

Minnetonka's Presley Norby was named the winner of the 21st annual Ms. Hockey Award by Let's Play Hockey, given to the top senior girls' high school hockey player in Minnesota.

Norby led the Skippers to a 21-4-2 record and their second straight Lake Conference title. Norby registered 33 goals and 21 assists in 25 games. She posted 10 multi-goal games and 16 multi-point games, including four hat tricks.

Per Let's Play Hockey, this winter, Norby was a member of the gold medal winning U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team at the 2016 IIHF World U18 Championship. She also played for the U.S. Women's National Team that won the Four Nations Cup in November. Following high school, Norby, who carries a 3.75 grade-point-average, plans to continue her hockey career at the University of Wisconsin.

Other finalists for the 2016 Ms. Hockey award included: Carly Bullock (Blake), Sydney Brodt (Mounds View), Katie Robinson (Dodge County) and Mekenzie Steffen (Hill-Murray).
